Every asset, tied to a person
A custom Zoho Creator application that gives a clear view of which asset is where, with whom, and when it needs attention.
The challenge
There was no single place showing which assets were in store, which were issued, to whom, and when service or AMC renewals were due. Asset details varied by type, so a fixed form didn't work.
The approach
- Master data for asset type, category and sub-category, created by admins and approved higher up to keep the structure clean
- Asset fields configurable by asset type
- Integration with Zoho People so assets are issued directly to employees; one employee can hold many assets
- Vendor master with multiple contacts per vendor
- Tracking of status, expiry, service dates and AMC
- Only in-store, active assets shown during assignment
- Low-stock reminders and dashboards for admins, approvers and leadership
Scope boundaries
Procurement, purchase and returns were deliberately kept out of scope. The app maintains accurate asset data rather than duplicating purchasing processes handled elsewhere. Defining that boundary early kept the build focused.
